Your images can be converted on the fly using advanced depth estimation, bringing your existing photo library into 3D instantly. Depth and parallax parameters can be adjusted in real time, allowing you to fine-tune the holographic effect and find the perfect balance between realism and artistic depth.
All processing happens locally on your PC — no cloud services, no subscriptions, and no data collection. Your images never leave your computer, ensuring a completely private viewing experience.
To push the effect even further, Holo Picture Viewer also includes tools to generate Gaussian Splats from a single image. These conversions create richer depth and allow noticeably more head movement compared to traditional depth-based holographic conversion.
The built-in converter runs directly inside the app and requires an NVIDIA GPU with around 16 GB of VRAM. For systems with less GPU memory, the included standalone Web UI converter provides an alternative workflow that works with 8GB NVIDIA GPUs or even CPU-only systems, though processing may take longer.
The Web UI converter also includes an experimental panorama mode capable of generating true navigable Gaussian Splat scenes from 180° or 360° equirectangular photos, allowing images from action cameras or panoramic photography to be turned into explorable 3D environments.
In addition to these tools, Holo Picture Viewer can also act as a viewer for external Gaussian Splat scenes such as .ply and .spz files, including real-time rendering with sorting and spherical harmonics lighting where available.
